H*commerce is very new word that I came across online. I have heard about e-commerce, m-commerce now H*commerce for Hackers-commerce. “H*commerce is The business of hacking you”. You read it right, hacking you.

Mcafee has put together a website stophcommerce to expose the hacking, email phishing other online fraud. You can get involved to provide solution to protect yourself, family and business.

This website if full bandwidth hungry. But very informative for those who are interested on IT security. There are several episodes to come something like an online documentary.

TechSmith has been giving wonderful products like Snagit Screen capture, Jing, Camtasia Studio, Camtasia Relay and more. Today SnagIt allows you to capture anything on the screen full screen, windows, draw and lets you to edit the captured image with ease.

Recuva – File Recovery software its a freeware

Recuva is a freeware that  works on any windows version that can restore files that have been accidently deleted from you PC. It also recovers file that are emptied on the recycle bin.
 
Recuva has a nice way of categories Pictures, Music, Documents, Video & other files, which makes easy for the user to narrow down what need to be downloaded.
It does a wonderful job of recovering the files that you might have accidently deleted and then empty the folder, you would its already late to recover.
 
Once you selected the file you want to recover, click recover, then you need to choose which drive you want to recover the file.

Click Ok, File will be saved on the folder which you selected. Remember one thing, never recover C drive and save it on the C drive. It always recommended  to save to another drive.

I am sure, every one of us would have thought, Recovering a delete files is big task. Recuva is very good one you should try, not too complicated to use. I highly recommend Recuva one of my favorite and most of all its FREEWARE.

Application Mover is a free ware that relocated installed software from one drive to another drive. Its is designed to move programs from one path to a different path on the same disk or to another disk.
For example, lets say you have installed C:\program files\winrar and you want to install winrar for some reason to D drive. All you have to do is just use the Application Mover. Application mover works with Windows XP,2000, 2003 and all Vista version both 32 bit and 64 bit versions.
You never know when this will come in hand for you.

Hurray.. Thanks to my wife, for sponsoring to get a domain name for my blog. Yes, I have a domain name from GoDaddy. As you might have guessed now, new domain name is askvp.net.  Try using the coupon FACEBOOK5 to get cheaper domain on GoDaddy.

Jotti’s malware scan is an free online service that lets you to scan any suspicious files you download from internet with several antivirus software.  There is a limitation, that you max size you can upload is 15 Mega Byte.

I was bit surprised to see quite a lot of famous vendors take on the site like AVG, AntiVir, Nod32 etc.


All you have to do is, after downloading any file from internet supposing less than 15MB, you need to upload on the Jotti site.

After the file is uploaded on the site, its then tested against the known virus signature.

Very nice Additional information its shows, MD5, SHA1, File type. This allows you to check if some one have sent you file embedded virus or Trojan.

Windows 7 Keyboard shortcuts you should know.

Windows 7 has very nice keyboard shortcuts that I like. I always use keyboard shortcuts than mouse.
Here are the some of the one I found:

• Windows key + Home = clears all except the active window on desktop
• Shift + Click any taskbar item = Open a new instance of application you choose.
• Windows key + (numpad +/-) = Zoom in(+) / Zoom out (-). This opens up Windows magnifier.
• Windows Key + P = Adjust presentation settings for your display. No need to go through right click desktop etc…to change to presentation mode.
• Windows Key + T  = Scroll on through the Taskbar.
• Widows key + Left/Right Arrow = This docks the each active window to the side of the monitors. (Very sexy one)
• Windows key + Down Arrow = Restore window if that’s maximized / Minimized window if maximised.
• Windows key + Up Arrow =  Active window set to maximized.
• Windows key + Space bar = You can see through to the desktop without minimize the active windows. Active windows becomes transparent. (very useful for me to write blog)
