Copy command prompt output directly to Windows Clipboard

If you use the command prompt quite often and have to copy and paste output from command’s, this tips will make your life much easier.

Trick is using “|” (pipe without quote), windows vista, Windows 7, Windows server 2003 & windows server 2008 you can direct the output from a command from command prompt directly to the windows clipboard.

For example, here I run the ipconfig command and direct its output to the windows clipboard.

|C:\users\Balaji>ipconfig |clip

This will copy the output to the clipboard. Simply CTRL + V to paste to any application like notepad,

To confirm, its work I pasted here for your reference.

Kon-Boot – Fantastic Bypass Linux/ Windows Local login

Kon-Boot is an fantastic piece of software which allows to change contents of the Linux Kernel and Windows kernel also on the fly when pc is booting. This is live cd which enables you to log into a Linux system  as “root” user without typing the root password.  Same for windows is that it allows you to login to the password protected profile without entering the right password. 

I have read about other type of software that will reset the password when some one forgot the root password for Linux / Windows password.

Kon-boot  changes the contents of the Windows kernel while booting, everything is done virtually ( I love virtual stuff) without modifying any physical system.

Tested windows versions are Windows server 2008, Windows Vista business SP0, Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 & Windows Vista ultimate SP0, Windows Sever 2003 enterprise, Windows XP SP1, SP2, SP3 and even Windows 7 RC.

Tested Linux Kernals: Gentoo 2.6.24, Ubuntu 2.6.24.3, Debina 2.6.18-6, Fedora 2.6.25.9-76.

CD-ISO Image can be downloaded here, and burn the iso image to cd. If you don’t have CD Burning software, try the CdburnerXP check out the archive on blog.

This software bring concerns to the PC security. Better ways to protect your data by encrypting the entire hard drive.

How to change color on the Command prompt

1. Open Command prompt, Start –> Run –> cmd. or press Windows Key and R and then type cmd.

2. Type “Color ?” without double quotes , this will show the help for the “Color”



3. syntax goes color [attribute] eg. “color 6” will turn the font color to yellow.

Note: This applies only to the session, as soon as you close the command prompt window, next time you open command prompt it will have b/w default color.

It requires Java run time to run the web based test which run on Java applet. Some on the test includes HTTP caching behavior, proxy correctness, DNS servers resilience to abuse, download, upload of the connection. and lot more.

This is a free application on your mobile phone which shows what is around you(hotels, bars, clubs, cinema etc) by displaying real time digital information(address, price of things they sell) on top  of reality through the camera of your mobile phone.

Microsoft Thumbtack – Save link, photos anything you find on the web.

Microsoft Live Labs is offering a very nice tool for those of bloggers or anyone who wants to save the links, articles, address anything you see on the internet.  Thumbtack offer same features as of the Delicious,  Webnotes or Clipmarks.
Thumbtack works with both Firefox and Internet Explorer gives you instructions how to add to the browsers.

To show you how its works, simply highlight the on the website that you want to save and click on the Thumbtack.

 
This will copy all the information you wanted to save, now you can add Title, Collection you want to save to, add tags to the clips, once done Collect button.

Thumbtrak user interface is nicely designed. You can drag and drop collections with ease.

Thumbtack is still in Beta state, I still love it, this enables me to save all the links, URLs. Give it a try new way to share and collect data.

WatchDox has launched his beta site and inviting web used to give it a show. Confidela is the company behind this interesting idea. 

WatchDox allows you to share a document securely with anyone, which quite a lot of other products allow. But WatchDox goes one step further by giving the control on your hand to specify permissions on them (Printing, coping / forwarding). Best part is you can track all the activities of your document and all the places your documents has sent.
Files types supports doc, docx, ppt, pptx, pps, xls, xlsx, pdf odt, ods, txt, rtf only.

You can also send directly from Microsoft Outlook after downloading the Outlook Plug-in.

Very simple upload form, which works similar how you upload any attachment.

 
You can add as many email address you want to add, after type your personal note and hit sent.

You will see the above confirmation message. WatchDox has My Document has the very nice folder that shows how many views, when was the document viewed.

Google Wave – New concept for collaborate and communication on the web - Amused me.

Google Wave is something which made me say Wow. Google Wave is a open source product that allows users communications and collaborate with each other on the web. Two brothers who were involved in developing the Google Maps are leading the Google Wave concepts. 

Simply Google Wave is the new model for communication and collaboration on the web.

If you find time I would recommend you to check out this Developers preview of the Google Wave. It is so amazing you would say, I want this product as quick as possible.
